This September we invite you to walk, run, cycle, swim or paddle and help us collectively travel 3000 miles in solidarity with survivors of torture who have been forced to make perilous journeys to safety. Journeys in Solidarity is for anyone who wants to take on a challenge that suits their ability and fitness level to help give hope to survivors of torture. Entry to take part in our challenge event costs just £8, and with this you receive a tee or swimming cap - depending on the activity you choose.

Choose one of 4 routes that represents a torture survivor's journey or choose your own. Cover the distance however and wherever you like over 30 days. Any challenge, big or small, is welcome. So whether you commit to swimming the distance of the channel, cycling the distance from Kabul to Pakistan or are taking a casual walk across a local park with your family, this is an incredible opportunity to get more involved with Freedom from Torture's work.

Our 4 set routes are:

  • English Channel: 22 miles
  • Lviv, Ukraine to Poland: 40 miles
  • Aleppo, Syria, to Gaziantep, Turkey: 75 miles
  • Kabul, Afghanistan to Peshawar, Pakistan: 175 miles
